Site Inspection carried out at Amar Mahal Flyover by the Revenue Minister of Maharashtra. Chandrakant Dada Patil was present at the inspection site to ensure that the flyover work meets the requirement. Patil was accompanied by Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) and Public Work Department (PWD) engineers.
After two of its joints were found damaged, the northbound carriageway of the Amar Mahal Flyover in Chembur has been closed to heavy-vehicles, since April 8. The state Public Works Department (PWD) has roped in the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) and formed an expert committee to find the exact reason for the damage. After the investigation, the engineers concluded that five of the ten joints were damaged and need to be repaired immediately.
